Chris has been a mortgage adviser since 1999 and comes to this industry via a slightly unusual route. Originally a qualified electrician and during the 80s a photocopier and Fax engineer (remember them?). There is a common thread… problem solving! It’s one of Chris’ natural strengths.

Each client enquiry is approached from a clear sky; no pre-judgement, no quick answers, his aim is always to attain the best outcome he can, for you, his client.

He started his own Copier business in 1990 and a side-line Mortgage adviser business in 1999, then sold the copier business in 2000 to focus on becoming the best mortgage adviser he could be.

Launching Avon Financial Services Ltd in 2004 allowed a more independent approach to a wider range of finance products such as Life and other Protection Insurances, Short term lending, Bridging Finance and he qualified as specialist Equity Release adviser in 2008.

Reverted to sole trader status (“cos it keeps things simple”) and worked through various networks until finding Peritus Private Finance Network. Peritus are a network built by advisers for advisers and enables independent advisers to operate in their own manner while working within a regulated structure.

Joining Peritus allowed Chris to reinvent himself with a trading style which meant a new business name and all the paraphernalia that comes with it including this website 😊

Why Big Sky Finance?

He called the business Big Sky Finance for two reasons really: –

Being based in East Anglia, it is said that we have a big sky, this is because much of the land is flat fenland, no hills but a BIG Sky! He also has a hobby business as a Drone Pilot so he can use photos from that to illustrate his marketing 😊

Chris is committed to finding his clients the mortgage deal that suits them best, fixed rate or variable for buying their new home whether First Time Buyer or Home Mover , buy-to-let investment property, Equity Release or indeed whatever their needs and is happy to spend as much time with his clients as they need.

His aim is to help clients find and get the best deal for their circumstances, and always works to make the process as stress-free as possible by dealing with all the technicalities and processes involved.
